wilderness survival trek
Equipped with only a blanket and knife, we trek into pristine wilderness to put our survival skills, learned in previous classes, to the test. In preparation for our trek, we spend a few days at base camp drying jerky and making pemmican. Students are guided through wild edible plant identification and have the opportunity to gather and prepare wild edible and medicinal plants.
Following base camp preparations, we journey together into the wilderness to build our shelters, test our fire-making abilities, and practice primitive cooking techniques, while learning other valuable skills. Hunting and primitive fishing techniques are also explored.
This course is open to anyone having previous course experience in wilderness survival.
