covered abalone shells

Covered abalone shells are a beautiful tradition brought to us by generations of Makah weavers.  Join us in exploring these traditions while weaving your covered bowl.  Many people use them as a beautiful smudge bowl or even for holding their favorite jewelry.  Using mellowed northwest sweetgrass, this unique jewel is twined around cedar spokes and finished by a traditional braided rim.
