Backyard Blacksmithing
Instructor Howard Schwartz will be sharing
his vast knowledge of the skills of the blacksmith. In this
program, he will teach about Basic Forge Construction, the
precision of Heat Treating Metals and the basic tools of the
Backyard Blacksmith. He will also put an emphasis on using
recycled metals. Students will make their own personal knife
from a file, utilizing antler for the handle. A leather sheath
and a flint striker will also be made in this program. The class
will be held at our house in Issaquah with a maximum of 12
students for more of that one-on-one training.
