Flintknapping; Techniques to Tool Kits

Where can you go to learn the techniques of creating fine edged stone blades and make the tools to continue to hone your skills? Now you can join this class to accomplish both at once. You will start by learning the foundation techniques of Flintknapping, including material selection, spalling, and direct and indirect percussion flaking. Students will then move on to create their own Flintknapping tool kits containing a pressure flaker, a thick leather hand pad and a debutage tarp. Much time is allowed in class for hands on practice while being guided by one of the Northwest’s leading ancestral living skills instructors.
