cooking with seaweeds
Explore some of the most nutritious foods found wild here in the Northwest. Local expert, Karen Sherwood, shares some of her favorite recipes using locally harvested, wild seaweeds. Information on identification and ethical harvesting is covered, while students learn to cook with a variety of different seaweeds. We start simply with seaweed-miso soup, and then move on to more complex dishes of kelp energy bars and seaweed relish. Lunch is included, so warm up those taste buds!
