Using traditions passed down through generations, we will create a beautiful and functional knife sheath to carry one of our favorite carving knives.  Beautiful spring birch bark will form the body of the sheath while contrasting winter bark or exterior bark can be chosen for the protective collar.  A Swedish wood carving knife is included in the programs.  Bark selection, forming, and traditional stitching patterns will be taught as each student creates their own unique knife sheath.  Class taught by Northwest basket weaver, Karen Sherwood.
