Come join local Northwest ethnobotanist Karen Sherwood as we explore the gifts of nettle, with special focus on edible, nutritional, and medicinal virtues.  This course encompasses classroom instruction on proper harvesting techniques and ethics, hands-on field identification of nettle and other local flora while on the trail, and plant preparation utilizing nettle previously collected from private lands.  Students will participate in preparing snacks from some of Karen’s favorite nettle recipes and be given a booklet of these instructions to take home with them.  We hope to see you there for this day of good fun, good eats, and learning about the gifts of the northwest’s bounty.
