Currently, our work trade program is available for students enrolled in one or more of our 8 month long Apprenticeship Programs; Primitive Living Skills, Ethnobotany, and Path of the Hunter. We offer a 50 hour ($500) credit towards tuition to each applicant who demonstrates that they would benefit from a work trade credit. The availability of work trade hours may be increased, determined by how many students apply. Most activities will be grounds work including planting and tending the vegetable garden, raking, pruning, and mowing, as well as preparing course materials for programs. We require that a portion of the work trade hours go towards organizing and packing program supplies prior to overnight courses and unpacking and re-shelving them immediately upon returning from the course. This usually takes a few hours total per course, and is an essential part of the exchange.
We are looking for an individuals who are self-motivated, has a good work ethic, and is passionate about learning primitive living skills. Applicants must be physically fit enough to perform the required work, and must have their own transportation. Any special talents or experiences a person possesses will also be considered.
